


Play for 4 provides financial assistance for adolescents who suffer traumatic brain injuries due to an athletic related activity and those responsible for the expenses associated with their care.
Each year, Play for 4 raises money through fundraising events and private and corporate donations. These funds will be used to provide financial assistance to adolescents that suffer traumatic brain injuries from athletic events. This financial assistance may be used to cover medical expenses both in and out of the hospital, rehabilitation and therapy expenses and cost related to bringing patients home and ensuring they have the equipment and care needed to successfully recover. These funds may also be used to for special educational needs.


Play for 4 is a non-profit organization that was established in 2009 after Cole Schlesner, a 14 year old from Loveland, Ohio was struck in the head by a line-drive while pitching in a youth baseball game. Cole suffered a traumatic brain injury and was air-flighted to Cincinnati Children??s Hosptial where he had life-saving surgery. Cole continues his journey to recovery.
In the US, over 300,000 people suffer traumatic brain injuries each year. Athletic events are the leading cause of these injuries. Many individuals that suffer traumatic brain injuries face long recovery periods and sometimes lifetime, long-term effects. The expenses associated with medical treatment and long recovery periods can be a tremendous financial burden on the families of these injured individuals.
